Holly Brown, executive director at the Palace Theatre in Albany, is stepping down from the position later this month.

Brown, who spent the past five years at the helm of the historic Albany theater, will be succeeded by Susan Rosko Fogarty. Fogarty most recently worked as a senior executive with the Capital District YMCA, and has also worked in the music and banking industry.

Brown was hired by the Palace in 2011 as general manager, and stepped up into the executive director’s chair in 2012. In five years at the helm, Brown doubled the number of events held at The Palace and increased attendance by 40 percent.

During her time at the Palace, Brown also oversaw the addition of Albany’s Park Playhouse and the Cohoes Music Hall as venues under The Place Theatre umbrella.
