Seeds for the Section II Class A football postseason tournament were released Sunday. Here’s our breakdown of the classification’s postseason field.

View from the top

Undefeated and with only one win this season coming by fewer than 12 points, No. 1 Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake is the favorite. The Spartans scored at least 28 points in each of their eight wins this season.

Best of the rest

The only blemish on No. 2 Averill Park’s season is a one-point loss at Burnt Hills, a 28-27 defeat in which the Warriors could not convert a late 2-point conversion. Averill Park is the top challenger to Burnt Hills.

Burnt Hills topped Averill Park 24-6 in the Super Bowl. The Spartans later advanced to the state semifinals.

Don’t be surprised if …

No. 3 Queensbury pulls off the upset in the semifinals. The Spartans have three losses this season, but all came in close games against tough foes. Queensbury lost to Burnt Hills (31-20), Averill Park (35-26) and reigning Class B state champion Glens Falls (10-6).

Keep your eyes on …

No. 4 South Glens Falls quarterback Connor Bovair, who led the Bulldogs to a victory in their must-win Week 8 game against Amsterdam. The sophomore has passed for 13 touchdowns this season.

Semifinals schedule

Friday

4-South Glens Falls at 1-Burnt Hills, 7; 3-Queensbury at 2-Averill Park, 7.
