If you think you see Paul Simon around Saratoga this week, you may be right.

The famous musician, who has won 12 Grammy awards, will be visiting Skidmore College on Thursday.

He’ll be teaching a masterclass to songwriting students of the college. A facilitated conversation with Skidmore President Philip A. Glotzbach, during which Simon will discuss his extraordinary music career and his work with charitable foundations, is scheduled for the evening. The discussion is sold out and the masterclass is a private event for Skidmore students only.

Simon has plenty to talk about, between his years in Simon & Garfunkel to the past few decades spent playing with his own band. He’s done everything from experimental singer/songwriter music to world music. Albums like “Graceland,” “The Rhythm of the Saints,” and more recent ones like “Stranger to Stranger,” show off Simon’s range and musicianship.

He’s also helped to raise money for organizations like the Children’s Health Fund, the Half-Earth Project, Autism Speaks and others.
