SCHENECTADY — City police are investigating an apparent suicide discovered Monday morning in the area of Albany Street and Winston Place.

Police were alerted to the area at 6:52 a.m. by a female caller who reported seeing someone walking in that area about 10 to 15 minutes prior, and she wanted the person checked out, police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Dearing said.

Officers arrived within minutes and discovered the man’s body a few minutes later, Dearing said. Dearing did not indicate how the man may have died, but he said there were no reports of gunshots in the area.
