Robbery attempt added to man’s list of heist counts

SCHENECTADY — A man accused in a series of four local store robberies is now accused of trying a fifth, authorities said.

Maurice E. Miller, 30, now faces a count of first-degree attempted robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection with a Nov. 7 incident,  according to court documents.

Miller is accused of attempting to rob Kris and Bella Convenience on Van Vranken Avenue that evening while displaying a knife. He fled empty-handed, documents read. He has been previously charged with allegedly robbing the Stewart’s nearby on Van Vranken that same night.

Miller also faces first-degree robbery counts in connection with a Nov. 16 robbery at the Sunoco on Erie Boulevard, Nov. 10 robbery at a Stewart’s in Rotterdam and a Nov. 11 robbery at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Broadway.
