Shaker defeated Mohonasen in a Suburban Council boys' game Tuesday night.

The Shenendehowa girls’ basketball team beat Averill Park 57-56 in a battle of state-ranked Suburban Council teams Tuesday night.

Catherine Almeida, who scored 15 points, hit a 3-pointer with three seconds left to give Shen the win. Stephanie Jankovic had 21 points for Averill Park. Cameron Tooley scored 20 for Shen.

Colonie beat Schenectady 67-30 in other Suburban Council play. Aliyah Wright scored 22 for Colonie. Naseya Dix had 12 for Schenectady.

Starting strong with a 31-point first quarter, Saratoga Springs beat Ballston Spa 77-34. Dolly Cairns scored 20 for Saratoga. Samantha DeVito had 10 for Ballston Spa.
