A city man who had 10 license suspensions on his record fled from a traffic stop early Thursday before officers arrested him, authorities said.
Leon Graves, 49, of Elder Street, faces one count of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, along with misdemeanor resisting arrest.
Officers pulled over Graves just before 2 a.m. on State Street after spotting him pull out of a driveway at an unsafe speed, according to court documents. He then made a U-turn and had a headlight out.
He then got out of his car, refused to get back in and ran off, according to court documents. Officers arrested him after a brief chase.
Graves’ driving record includes suspensions for failure to answer, appear or pay fines back to 2009, according to documents.
Officers found him in possession of a small amount of marijuana, leading to a violation marijuana count. He also faces a host of traffic infractions.
