
SCHENECTADY — Shenendehowa swept the team titles Saturday at the Suburban Council indoor track and field championships at Union College.
Jacob Pishkula won the long jump and Casey Gribben was best in the pole vault to lead the Shenendehowa boys.
James Cocca of Averill Park won the shot put and weight throw, and AJ Weinstein of Columbia won the triple jump and high jump. Schenectady prevailed in the 4×800 with a group that included Millrose Games-bound Maazin Ahmed.
The Shenendehowa girls got individual wins from Rachel Sterle in the 300, Jennifer McClintock in the 1,000, Hannah Crounse in the high jump, Kelly Hamlin in the long jump, Michaela Schaffer in the triple jump, Chidalu Anameze in the shot put and Chidera Anameze in the weight throw.
Alana Carroll of Averill Park cleared 13 feet on her third attempt to establish an all-time Section II best in the pole vault. Lena Calkins of Mohonasen cleared 11 feet.
Niskayuna took two of the three relays.

OCEAN BREEZE
STATEN ISLAND — Xavier Washington of Colonie won the varsity Blue Division 200-meter dash (24.03) at the Ocean Breeze Invitational in Staten Island.
Colonie’s Josh Kemp (48-6 1/2) and Mike Lavigna (47-8 3/4) placed third and fourth, respectively, in the varsity Red weight throw.
WRESTLING
SYRACUSE — Shenendehowa went 0-2 at the inaugural New York State Public High School Athletic Association Dual Meet Championships at Onondaga Community College.
Shenendehowa lost Division 1 matches against Fulton (38-28) and Hilton (46-22) which ended its bid to reach the semifinals.
Warrensburg reached the Division 2 semifinals and lost to Canisteo-Greenwood (49-36). Warrensburg earlier defeated Locust Valley (45-24) and Peru (46-23).
