CORINTH — Two people died after their car crashed into a tree off Angel Road in Corinth on Wednesday afternoon, Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo said.
The county sheriff’s office identified the two victims as Genessa Marie Coon, 23, of 377 Angel Road No. 64, Corinth, and Cody M. Fitzpatrick, 21, of 19 Pauline St., Whitehall. Coon and Fitzpatrick were the vehicle’s only occupants, and died in the crash that occurred shortly before 4 p.m. No other cars were involved, Zurlo said.
First responders found Coon and Fitzpatrick trapped inside the car, appearing to be seriously injured, the sheriff’s office said. EMS determined that both had died on the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
Zurlo said police were working to reconstruct and investigate the cause of the crash, as well as interview witnesses.
Zurlo said Angel Road, near Woodcrest Acres Road, has reopened to traffic.
