Ava Dallas broke a Section II record when she recorded a 9.40 vault score in Saratoga Springs’ 176.05-155.60 gymnastics dual meet win over Bethlehem Tuesday. The longstanding record had previously been 9.325.

Dallas, a freshman, added victories in the floor exercise (9.50) and in the all-around competition with a 37.10 cumulative score. The Blue Streaks finished their dual meet season 6-0, champions of the Suburban Council.

Saratoga’s Sophia Damiano took second in the all-around competition (36.65) with wins in the uneven bars (9.15) and balance beam (9.40).

Bethlehem’s highest all-around finisher was Allison Gray (33.05) in fourth place.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
In the Western Athletic Conference, Schoharie topped Fort Plain 63-50 behind 13 points from Mike Teeter. Jaxson Yacowenia led the Hilltoppers with 22.

Slade Pulliam’s 33 points propelled Berne-Knox-Westerlo past Canajoharie 69-56. Luke Van Slyke led the Cougers with 22.

Noah Foster scored 16 points in Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons’ 64-40 win over Fonda-Fultonville. Nacier Hundley chipped in 14.

Trevon Gifford recorded 36 points and seven rebounds as Mayfield beat Northville 64-52. TJ Wadsworth scored 12 points for the Falcons.

Duanesburg beat Galway 58-37. Boone Lynch led the Eagles with 13 points.
Granville won an Adirondack League matchup with Corinth 63-30. Jarrett Williams led the Golden Horde with 13 points, while Colt Guilder scored 10 for the Tomahawks.

Albany Academy beat Shaker 85-54 in non-league play. August Mahoney scored 21 points for the Cadets, while Sloan Seymour led the Blue Bison with 22.

Watervliet defeated Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 67-49. Meghan Murray led the Cannoneers with 24 points. Rylee Polverelli scored 16 for the Indians.

Harmony Philo had 34 points on six 3s in Gloversville’s 63-47 Foothills Council win versus South Glens Falls. Mackenzie Collier scored 22 for the Bulldogs.

Ani Crocker’s 21 points lifted Saratoga Central Catholic past Waterford-Halfmoon 38-32 in the Wasaren League. Annelise Rebel led the Fordians with 10.

Logan Thayne scored 37 points to lead Hoosick Falls past Greenwich 65-51. Maddy Brophy had 21 for the Witches.

Tamarac beat Mechanicville 56-41. Renna Poulin scored 21 points in the win, while Amani Henderson added 19.
