Seeds for the Section II Class A boys’ basketball postseason tournament were released Wednesday.

Here’s our breakdown of the classification’s postseason field.

View from the top

Fast-paced, high-scoring Amsterdam earned the No. 1 seed. The Rams are seeking their first area crown since the 1990s.

Best of the rest

No. 2 Mohonasen proved itself in the Suburban Council this season, while No. 3 Lansingburgh is the defending champion.

Lansingburgh prevailed in a classic against Averill Park. In overtime, Lansingburgh won 64-62.

Don’t be surprised if …

No. 5 Gloversville finds a way into the title game. The Dragons take — and make — a lot of 3-pointers and are capable of taking down any team in this classification on the right day.

Keep your eyes on …

Mohonasen junior Duncan Tallman, who is leading the Mighty Warriors while playing with a shoulder injury.
