“Star Trek” fans can rejoice. William Shatner is coming to Proctors in Schenectady on Wednesday, April 4.

The actor who played Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise for three seasons (1966-69,) on NBC-TV, will stop at Proctors for a screening of “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn,” followed by a live conversation with the audience. The film begins at 7:30 p.m.

Shatner will share stories about portraying Captain Kirk in the original television series as well as seven more times in feature films.

Shatner’s career spans more than 50 years, including his portrayal of Captain Harrison Byers in the 1961 film, “Judgement at Nuremburg.” He has also recorded musical albums, including “Has Been,” and is a successful author who has penned “Leonard: My Fifty-Year Friendship with a Remarkable Man,” and “Spirit of the Horse: A Celebration in Fact and Fable,” published just last year.

Shatner’s TV resume includes an Emmy Award-winning performance as Denny Crane on both “The Practice” and “Boston Legal.”
