SCHENECTADY — Another local school district has issued an alert to allay fears based on a threat made elsewhere.
The Schenectady City School District posted a note on its Facebook page Thursday about an online threat made to a school with the acronym “SHS.” The threat targeted a school in Springfield, Ohio, and has no connection to Schenectady, the Schenectady district wrote.
“We appreciate everyone’s concern in the matter and continued vigilance for the safety of our children,” the Schenectady post states.
The notification comes after a similar threat made against a school with the acronym “MHS” last month. The threat related to a school in Virginia but prompted responses from other districts, including Mohonasen.
