COLONIE — An Albany man is facing charges in connection with an October burglary at a gun shop in Colonie, police said.

Nathan E. Hennessy, 21, of 245 Delaware Ave., Albany, was charged Monday with third-degree burglary; third- and fourth-degree grand larceny; and third-degree criminal mischief, all felonies; as well as fourth-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools, both misdemeanors.

Hennessy was identified as a possible suspect in the days after the Oct. 29, 2017, burglary at NY Shooter Supply, 1593 Central Ave. in Colonie, police said. Authorities believe he is the person seen in surveillance video of the crime that was released in October.

During the course of a separate investigation, the Albany Police Department recovered one of the handguns stolen during the burglary. The weapon was found at a residence in Troy, police said. They are still searching for four other stolen handguns, and said more arrests are possible, police said.

Hennessy, who had been in custody since Dec. 12, 2017, on unrelated charges, was arraigned in Colonie Town Court and was returned to Albany County jail, police said.
