School massacres: Are they preventable? I really don’t know.
What I do know is that I grieve for the heroic coach who sacrificed his life for others. Why? Because he had no other option. I grieve for those who lost their lives and for those who may lose theirs in the future. Why? Because they were, and may continue to be deprived, of their absolute right to adequate professional physical protection.
Ideology has no place in making this critical decision to accomplish the objective of saving lives. The reality isn’t if another massacre will occur, but where and when. Frankly we are out of time.
