SARATOGA SPRINGS — Visitors to Saratoga Race Course this summer will have a new option for viewing the races.

The Stretch at Saratoga Race Course is an “enhanced hospitality area” that was built over the winter in the grandstand at the Top of the Stretch, the first significant upgrade to the historic structure since the mid-1960s, according to a prepared statement about the upgrade.

The Stretch will open to guests on opening day of the 2018 meet, offering guests a private viewing area with three types of boxes available in multiple configurations.

The area will also feature a raised circular bar, touchscreen tablets and new premium reserved seating, according to the prepared statement.

Guests in The Stretch will also have access to a full-service kitchen and concessions, high-definition televisions and video screens, special events, table service and private restrooms.

Reserved seating options for The Stretch are available for paid reservation on a seasonal basis, according to the New York Racing Association.

The 40-day 2018 meet will run from July 20 to Sept. 3.
