FULTON COUNTY — A man arrested in September on accusations he fractured a baby’s skull has now been indicted, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office said.
Andrew Allen, 31, of Gloversville faces one count of first-degree assault and other charges.
He was arraigned on March 8 and ordered held without bail.
Allen is accused of punching his 7-day-old child in the head after a fight with his wife, police have said. The baby was taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital, then airlifted to Albany Medical Center for further treatment.
Police responded to the hospital and talked with the mother, who indicated Allen punched the baby after a domestic incident, police said.
Gloversville police, with assistance from New York State Police and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, later searched an apartment at 6 Cherry St., where the assault is believed to have taken place, police said and then arrested Allen.
Allen is represented by attorney Kyle Davis.
