ROTTERDAM – A Level 3 sex offender registered in Rotterdam moved away, failed to alert authorities and now faces charges, police said.
Kevin M. Gabriel, 61, formerly of First Avenue, was arrested this week by police in Niagara Falls, where he was currently living, Rotterdam police said.
Gabriel faces three felony counts, including failing to register a change of address. He must verify his residence every 90 days.
Rotterdam police learned Gabriel had moved to Niagara Falls and hadn’t registered. They then issued a warrant for his arrest, police said. He was arraigned and ordered held.
Gabriel is on the registry for a 1996 conviction from North Carolina, according to the state database.
