ROTTERDAM — A Wednesday morning crash involving a state Department of Transportation truck on Interstate 890 resulted in injuries to two people — and the arrest of a responding tow truck driver, state police said.
Two people in the car that struck the DOT vehicle suffered minor injuries, a state police sergeant said, though further details were not immediately available.
State police arrested the tow truck driver after running his information upon arrival, a standard practice. That inquiry revealed the driver had a warrant for his arrest, Sgt. Andre Ray said. Ray did not have information on what the warrant was for or the name of the tow truck company.
The car hit the truck at about 10:30 a.m. in the westbound lane near the Highbridge Road overpass. The impact smashed in the car’s front end and appeared to crumple a collision barrier on the back of the truck. A state 511NY traffic report indicated that, as of 10:35 a.m., at least one lane was blocked. That lane has since been cleared.
