SCHENECTADY — Schenectady school district board members John Foley and Mark Snyder have no challengers, as they go up for re-election next month.

The incumbents were the only people to file signatures by the Wednesday deadline for two school board seats that are on the May 15 ballot, according to school board clerk Martha Morris.

Last year, the school board race drew a field of six candidates for three seats and resulted in two new board members, Katherine Stephens and Bernice Rivera.

Foley and Snyder serve as the board’s president and vice-president, respectively, and are now set for new three-year terms. Foley joined the board in 2012; Snyder, an English teacher in Watervliet, joined the board in 2015.
