Zach Malek tossed a three-hit shutout with no walks and eight strikeouts Wednesday while going 1-for-2 with two walks to propel Schenectady past Mohonasen 3-0 in Suburban Council baseball.

Shenendehowa edged Columbia 8-6. Matt Bishop went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs for the Plainsmen, while Zach Goldberg and Jake Reinsich each added two hits, a run and an RBI.

Gordon Hogben went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBIs in Saratoga Springs’ 10-4 win over Bethlehem. Brad Hipsley also racked up three hits, while Christian Kondo had two hits and three runs.

Cameron Meyers had three hits and four RBIs to propel Guilderland past Niskayuna (5-3) 13-8. Joe Harwood homered for the Dutchmen (7-2).

Ballston Spa beat Averill Park 8-3. Donovan Rhoden drove in four runs for the Scotties.

Cobleskill-Richmondville (2-8-1) scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning to best Schalmont 4-3. Joe DeChristopher scored the game-winning run on a delayed double steal with runners on first and third.

Albany Academy edged La Salle 8-7 in eight innings. Ben Seiler and Ben Mason each doubled for the Albany Academy (11-0, 13-1), while Cory Listing hit a two-run home run for La Salle (6-5, 7-6).

In the Foothills Council, Broadalbin-Perth topped Scotia-Glenville (5-2, 5-3) 4-1. Nick Myers went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for the Patriots (6-2).

South Glens Falls doubled up Queensbury 4-2. Justin Nesbitt had a game-winning two-run single in the sixth inning.

Gloversville topped Johnstown 7-2. Trevor Mee went 2-for-2 with three RBIs for the Huskies.

Canajoharie defeated Duanesburg 3-2 in the Western Athletic Conference. Isaiah Logan hit a home run and drove in all three Cougars’ runs.

Fort Plain (6-0, 7-0) beat OESJ 14-1. Brady Fureno and Bryce Thibodeau each had three hits and three RBIs.

Mayfield beat Schoharie 4-3 in eight innings. John Fancher drove in Darren Frasier to score the game-winning run.

Cole Burgess went 3-for-4 with three home runs for Greenwich in a 15-1 Wasaren League win over Hoosick Falls. Carson Mosher went 4-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored.

Saratoga Central Catholic beat Waterford-Halfmoon 7-5 in eight innings. Dante Marin and Terel Tillman each recorded two hits, two runs and an RBI for the Saints.

SOFTBALL

In the Colonial Council, a two-run walk-off double by Haliegh Burgess led Cohoes over Lansingburgh 4-3. Also for Cohoes (8-2, 8-4), Jordan Brown went 2-4 with an RBI. Angeline Montanez had two doubles and two RBIs for Lansingburgh (8-2).

Schalmont beat Cobleskill-Richmondville 2-1. Erin Mahar went 3-4 with two runs scored for Schalmont (5-2). Mady Ross went 2-3 with an RBI double for Cobleskill-Richmondville (2-7).

Ichabod Crane beat Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 6-0. For Ichabod Crane, Calista Phippen pitched a complete game with 17 strikeouts, allowing only one hit and went 2-3 with a run and a RBI. Kali Saccento went 2-4 with three RBIs. Amelia Rossi went 1-3 with a double for Ravena.

In the Suburban Council, Shenendehowa beat Columbia 2-0. For Shen, the two runs were scored on a throwing error and a wild pitch and pitcher Emily Albanese threw a complete-game two-hitter and struck out nine. 

Ballston Spa beat Averill Park 7-3. Jillian Nitchman had three hits and an RBI and Sarah Pritchard went seven innings, giving up seven hits, three runs, walking none and striking out five while collecting three hits and two RBIs for Ballston Spa. 

Guilderland beat Niskayuna 12-6. For Guilderland (4-4, 6-5), Kaitlyn Paul had two doubles and two singles and Ashley Shean had two doubles and a single.

Mohonasen beat Schenectady 14-1. For Mohonasen (4-6), Mattie Mueller went 5-5 with three doubles and five RBIs, Michaela Arcate had two doubles and five RBIs and Sydney Carter went 3-3.

Burnt Hills-Ballston beat Albany 19-0. Gracie Ruzzo went five innings, giving up five hits, walking none and striking out two and McKenzie Konik had a double and five RBIs for Burnt Hills (6-2, 9-3). 

In the Foothills Council, Scotia-Glenville beat Queensbury 3-0. For Scotia-Glenville (6-1, 6-4), Kelley Mayette had two doubles and a single, and Grace Purvis had a complete-game shutout while hitting two singles. For Queensbury, Sam Brayton had three singles.

Schuylerville beat Amsterdam 7-0. For Schuylerville, Teagan Andrews threw a six-hit shutout with eight strikeouts. 

South Glens Falls beat Broadalbin-Perth 17-0. For South Glens Falls (12-0, 7-0), Maddie Capzucca went three innings, striking out eight of the nine batters faced, giving up zero hits and zero walks and Celyna Shaw had a grand slam. 

Saratoga Catholic beat Waterford-Halfmoon 20-4 in the Wasaren League. For Saratoga Catholic (6-3, 6-5), Ani Crocker went 3-4 with a home run and three runs scored, Emy Murray went 2-4 with a double and three RBIs, Molly O’Reilly went 2-3 with three RBIs and Ryleigh Dempsey went 1-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In the Western Athletic Conference, Mayfield beat Schoharie 9-2. For Mayfield (5-1, 5-3), Julianna Buyce had a two-run home run, a double, a single, two runs scored and four RBIs.

Galway beat Middleburgh 6-2. For Galway, Emma Smith threw a complete game shutout, threw nine strikeouts and went 3-4 with an RBI.

Canajoharie beat Duanesburg 11-4. For Canajoharie, Mackenzie Bowerman went seven innings giving up eight hits, four runs, two walks and five strikeouts while going 2-4 with a triple, one run scored and four RBIs.

Fort Plain beat OESJ (1-6, 2-7) 16-0. Kendall Kennedy earned the win for Fort Plain (5-3, 7-3), pitching five innings, giving up three hits, striking out eight, walking two and hitting one batter. 
Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons beat Northville 18-2 behind a complete-game no-hitter from Jaliene Santiago.

Schuylerville won a Foothills Council contest with Scotia-Glenville 14-4 behind seven goals and two assists from Amy Moreau. 

Erica Paton scored six goals in South Glens Falls’ 17-5 non-league win over Schenectady. Lauren Willis and Annika Kreppein each added four goals and one assist.

In the Suburban Council, Mohonasen beat Ballston Spa 96-84 to be the Co-Champions of the Suburban Council Grey Division and went 7-1 on the season. 

For Mohonasen, Dawson Foote finished first in the 100 (11.3), Kaleb Fretto finished first in the 200 (23.2) and Scott Konrad helped led the 400 meter relay team to a first-place finish (46.1).
