ALBANY — A woman who stole more than $225,000 worth of contact lenses from her employer in Colonie in order to sell them herself was sentenced to six months in jail Wednesday, Albany County District Attorney’s officials said.
Kathleen Litchfield, 42, of Cohoes, pleaded guilty earlier to second-degree attempted grand larceny and fourth-degree tax fraud, both felonies.
Litcheifled stole the contact lenses between 2013 and 2016 while employed at DiNapoli Opticians and failed to declare the resulting income on her taxes, prosecutors said.
She was also ordered to have five years of probation upon her release from jail. Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Mastatis prosecuted. The state police Financial Crimes Unit and the Colonie Police Department investigated the case.
