County event will impact traffic

NISKAYUNA & SCHENECTADY — Aqueduct Road will be closed, and other streets impacted, Saturday morning by the annual Schenectady County Pedal-Paddle-Run Triathlon.

The event will begin and end at Aqueduct Park in Niskayuna, starting at 8 a.m. Participants will run and bike on Aqueduct Road and Van Vranken Avenue and the Mohawk-Hudson bike path, then paddle on the Mohawk River.

Aqueduct Road, from Balltown Road to Van Vranken, will be closed from 7 to 11 a.m., with traffic re-routed by police. Local traffic on North End Drive, Sara Court, Saint Jean Place, and Anthony Street will be re-routed, as will traffic on South Ravine, North Ravine and Napa Court. Local traffic on Hillside Avenue will be re-routed to Wood Avenue.

Motorists are asked to be aware there will be bicyclists and runners on streets in the area.
