SCHENECTADY — The director of the Las Vegas University Medical Center trauma unit, which treated more than 100 victims of a mass shooting in October, is scheduled to give a public lecture at Union College.

Dr. John Fildes, a 1977 Union College graduate, will speak at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday in Nott Memorial. Fildes oversees the trauma unit that treated gunshot victims after a man opened fire at concert-goers on Oct. 1. The shooting, which claimed 58 lives, was one of the country’s deadliest mass shootings.
