LAKE LUZERNE — The Luzerne Chamber Music Festival will open its season on Monday, July 9, with a performance by president and artistic director Elizabeth Pitcairn and musicians from the New York City Ballet.
Presented by the Luzerne Music Center, the music festival concerts will also be held on July 23, July 30 and Aug. 13.
Performing along with Pitcairn on July 9 will be Glen Inanga on piano, Arturo Delmoni on violin, Michael Roth on viola and Sarah Hewitt-Roth on cello.
Toby Blumenthal and members of the Austin Symphony will be featured on the July 23 program, including Richard Kilmer on violin, Bruce Williams on Viola and Douglas Harvey on cello.
On July 30, the Caroga Lake Festival Players will highlight the program and feature its KASA Quartet and its Callisto Quartet.
Pitcairn returns to the stage on Aug. 13 to close out the season with the Fabulous Philadelphians, including Louise Thomas on piano, Paul Roby on violin, Che-Hung Chen on viola, Hai-Ye-Ni on cello and Jesus Morales on cello.
The Luzerne Music Center will also hold a series of faculty artists concerts on most Friday nights throughout the summer, beginning June 22 and concluding Aug. 3.
The Luzerne Center was created in 1980 by members of the Philadelphia Orchestra to provide world-class music instruction for youths in a summer camp environment regardless of their financial circumstances.
