SCHENECTADY — Police were investigating after a body was found in a Moyston Street home shortly after 8 a.m. , Sgt. Jeffrey McCutcheon said.

McCutcheon said the person appeared to have been dead for several days.

Police continued to investigate into Friday afternoon, and McCutcheon said it was too early to determine a cause of death or whether foul play was involved.

Carrie LaChance, 36, who lives across the street from the home where the body was found, said she has seen prostitution and drug related activity at the abandoned house for months.

“Just the other night, I had to chase them out of a car from next to my house,” she said.

Schenectady police were canvassing the area Friday afternoon. McCutcheon said no further details would be available until after an autopsy is conducted.
