ALBANY — A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with a stabbing Thursday morning on Madison Avenue, according to police.
Four men were stabbed at around 1 a.m., and one remained in critical condition at Albany Medical Hospital as of Friday.
Shortly after police received a call reporting the stabbings, Joseph Sanchez was located nearby by officers and was subsequently identified as a suspect, police said. He was taken into custody shortly thereafter.
An investigation revealed Sanchez had fought with the victims at a local establishment before the fight spilled onto the street, police said.
While outside and armed with a knife, Sanchez stabbed the men near Lark Street and Madison Avenue, according to police.
Sanchez has been charged with first-degree attempted murder and was arraigned in Albany City Court.
