Van Antwerp Middle School in Niskayuna on lockdown

A suspicious note was found

NISKAYUNA — Van Antwerp Middle School went into lockdown at approximately 2:30 p.m. Friday, based on a threatening note found in a bathroom.

Niskayuna Police were at the school investigating the incident, according to a posting on the school’s website.

Parents were not allowed to enter, per district policy. 

As of 5:15 p.m. Friday, no credible threat had been identified, and students were being prepared to be dismissed.

Niskayuna Central School officials said they will provide updates on the school’s website.
