NISKAYUNA — Firefighters pulled a driver from an SUV that rolled over after a crash in the traffic circle near the Rexford Bridge late Wednesday morning.

Three people in all were taken to the hospital after the crash, all with minor injuries, police said.

The SUV ended up on its side just before 11:30 a.m., after another driver tried to change lanes in the circle and collided with it, Niskayuna Police Chief Daniel McManus said. The crash happened where Aqueduct and Balltown roads meet.

Niskayuna Fire Districts 1 and 2 responded and worked to free the man from the overturned SUV. He appeared conscious and talking throughout. Four people in the car were unhurt, McManus said.

Police police ticketed the driver of the car for improper lane change and unlicensed operation, McManus said. He did not have the names of those involved on Wednesday.

The rollover was one of two in Schenectady County and three in the region to happen in a short period of time Wednesday morning. The other rollover in Schenectady County happened on Interstate 890, near the Broadway exit. A car also rolled over in Colonie Wednesday.
