NYRA announces Saratoga national anthem contest

SARATOGA SPRINGS — The New York Racing Association announced today the opening of an online competition for a chance to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Saratoga Race Course during the 2018 summer meet.

Contestants must submit a video audition from YouTube, or upload a file here. The audition must include singing the national anthem without accompaniment. The closing date for entries is Tuesday, July 31. 

Multiple entrants will be chosen to sing the National Anthem during this year’s meet at Saratoga, which runs from Friday, July 20 through Labor Day, Monday, September 3. 

Winning contestants will also be offered four clubhouse or grandstand seats on the day of their performance.
