FORT PLAIN — Three men are now in custody in connection with a weekend killing in Fort Plain, police said.

Police believe the men were involved with the of killing 29-year-old Joshua L. Laveck, of 60 Division St. Officers were called to Laveck’s residence just after 10 a.m. Saturday and found Laveck on the front porch dead, police said.

Being held are Eric S. Rivera, 31, of Gloversville and Aaron L. Cockfield, 33, of Johnstown. Police described them in a release as “in custody,” though the release did not identify charges against the men.

Police also sought a third man, Garry L. Sweet III, 38, of Fort Plain. Police called him “another person of interest in this homicide.”

Police announced on Facebook late Sunday that, as of 10:45 p.m., Sweet was also in custody. No further details were released.
