SCHENECTADY – A city man attacked someone with a large meat cleaver last week, authorities said.
Daniel J. Diamante, 63, of Elliot Avenue, was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of first-degree assault, a felony.
Diamante is accused of cutting the victim in the head and abdomen just after 10 p.m. Thursday at Diamante’s residence, according to police allegations in court documents. The victim required emergency medical treatment at Albany Medical Center for his injuries, documents read.
The charges are based on witness statements and oral statements made by Diamante, according to the police filing.
