SCHENECTADY — A morning stabbing in Mont Pleasant sent a woman to Albany Medical Center for treatment and the suspect is her 15-year-old daughter, police said.

Police described the woman’s injuries as serious but not life-threatening. Officers detained a girl in connection with the incident, police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Dearing said.

The stabbing happened at about 2:35 a.m. at 1253 Wing Ave. Dearing described it as a domestic incident.

The department’s Youth Aid Bureau continued to investigate mid-day Monday, and charges had not been filed, Dearing said. Due to the daughter’s age, any charges would be handled in Family Court.
