31-year-old man shot dead in Albany

The Albany Police Department is investigating the homicide of a 31-year old man shot early Saturday. 

Police, in a news release on its facebook page, stated that at approximately 12:30 a.m. officers responded to the area of Quail and First streets for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers found a man inside a vehicle who was suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Police said the man was transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officials said the homicide victim’s name has not be released “pending proper notifications.” 

The Albany Police Department detective division is asking anyone in the public who has information about the shooting to call investigators at 518-462-8039.
