Sheriff: Schenectady man sold drugs, possessed stolen gun

SCHENECTADY – A city man sold drugs and possessed a stolen gun this week, authorities said.

Wilbert Dunbar, 54, was arrested Tuesday and charged by the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Department’s Narcotics Unit. 

He is accused of possessing and selling unspecified narcotics in Schenectady once in May and twice in June, according to sheriff’s allegations in court documents.

Dunbar is also accused of possessing a loaded Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun at a Park Place address Tuesday and the gun had been reported stolen in Georgia in 2015, according to allegations in documents. 

Dunbar faces three counts each of third-degree criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance, and one count each of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felonies.
