Police: Three men, one an active duty Marine, accused in armed Gloversville robbery

GLOVERSVILLE — Three people, one an active-duty U.S. Marine, have been arrested in connection with a Gloversville robbery, police said Thursday.

The three are accused of threatening to shoot a man at his Third Avenue home and taking cash from him on Sunday night. The men are also accused of returning later to demand more money and jewelry, police said.

Between the visits, the victim contacted police, and officers stopped the alleged robbers in a car and arrested them.

Vittorio T. Barnett, 18, of Third Street, Gloversville; Kye K. Shelton, 18, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; and Trey P. Feldle, 20, of County Route 102, Gloversville, each face felony first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a firearm charges, according to a police report. Police identified Feldle as the active duty Marine.

The incident began at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday when the trio, armed with a .40-caliber handgun that was carried by Feldle, took $200 in cash from the victim, police said.

Sometime afterward, the men called the victim again to demand more. When he didn’t answer, they went to his residence, police said. It was unclear from a police report whether they encountered the victim a second time, but officers in the area found the car, which had North Carolina plates, and stopped it near the corner of Spring and North Main streets, police said.

Police found the handgun in the car, along with a handgun magazine, ammunition, brass knuckles and money, police said.

The men were arraigned and ordered held on $25,000 bail.
