SARATOGA SPRINGS — Saturday’s Ride to Cure Diabetes raised $1.5 million for the JDRF, formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
More than 500 cyclists, representing 81 JDRF chapters, biked 25, 60 or 100 miles around the Spa City area.
The funds will go toward Type 1 diabetes research.
Thirty local riders from the Northeastern New York chapter raised $112,000 for the cause, according to a release from JDRF.
The event was one of six JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes events held around the country in 2018.
Other sites included La Crosse, Wisconsin; Loveland, Colorado; Amelia Island, Florida; Death Valley, California; and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
