GLOVERSVILLE – A man tried threatened three children and tried to convince them to get in his black minivan or SUV in Gloversville Monday, police said.
Police received the report Tuesday and have been saturating areas around the city schools since to try and find the man, police said. Police Thursday also asked for the public’s help.
The children reported that the incident happened at around 6 p.m. Monday at the intersection of North Clark Drive and Summer Street, police said.
They reported that the man in the black minivan or SUV approached them looking for directions to Gloversville High School. After one of the juveniles gave directions, the man told them he had forgotten them and asked that they get in his vehicle and show him the way, police said.
The children refused and the man allegedly made a threat to them. They ran away and the vehicle drove toward West Fulton Street. They saw the vehicle turn right onto West Fulton and head west, police said.
Anyone with information related to the report is asked to contact the Gloversville Police Department at 518-773-4506.
