Troopers: Cobleskill men transported 2.6 pounds of pot

ORANGE COUNTY – Two Cobleskill men transported 2.6 pounds of marijuana in their car Tuesday evening along the Thruway, state police said.

Troopers stopped the men on Interstate 87 in the Town of Woodbury, Orange County, just before 9 p.m. for vehicle and traffic violations, state police said.

Troopers soon gained probable cause to search the vehicle and found the marijuana inside, troopers said.

Police charged both the driver, Brandon M. Burrell, 24, and passenger, Kahleel P. Taylor, 23, both of Cobleskill, with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony. Burrell also faces a violation marijuana possession count and vehicle and traffic violations, troopers said. 

They were arraigned and ordered held on $2,500 bail.
