
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake broke out to a 20-0 first-quarter lead and coasted past Columbia 49-16 in a Section II Class A quarterfinal football game Friday night.
Rece Gobel and DJ Lashley caught TD passes, and Vincent Daviero added a TD run in that opening quarter to get the Spartans going. Daviero added a 50-yard run, and Lashley contributed a 74-yard run in the third quarter for Burnt Hills. Daviero (114 yards) and Lashley (118 yards) each ran for more than 100 yards as the Spartans rolled up 287 yards on the ground.
