
SCHENECTADY – A car struck a pole Monday on Albany Street in Schenectady, shutting down a block for a time for repaired that pole and another.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.n. near the corner of Albany and Bigelow streets and left a large dent in the car’s front end.
The driver apparently fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
A police spokesman could not be reached for information on the crash Tuesday morning.
Albany Street between Elm and Bigelow was closed while National Grid replaced both poles.
