GLOVERSVILLE — Gloversville police said on Thursday they were investigating reports of needles or pins being found in candy handed out Wednesday night during trick-or-treating.

The type of candy involved in the reports varies, police said, but those who reported the candy said they were going to homes in the area of Kingsboro Avenue, from First Avenue north to Sixth Avenue.

“Parents are strongly encouraged to closely inspect any candy which was collected,” police said in a press release.

Gloversville police have also been in contact with the state police and other agencies in Fulton County, police said.

Anyone who discovers a foreign object in their candy should contact the Gloversville police at 518-773-4506.
