STILLWATER – A Stillwater man stole a woman’s credit card and then ran up more than $2,000 in charges on it by forging her name, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said Tuesday.
Franklin Lewis, 27, faces one count each of second-degree forgery and fourth-degree grand larceny, felonies.
He is accused of taking the card from the woman’s home while visiting her Stillwater residence, officials said. Lewis then used it to purchase in excess of $2,100 in goods by signing her name, officials said.
Lewis was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court and released to probation supervision. He is to return to court later.
