SCHENECTADY — Amsterdam’s Kristy Pollak Memorial Light Display will have a 75-foot lighted train in Saturday’s Fidelis Care Holiday Parade.
Organizers of the yuletide fundraiser in Montgomery County also will offer moments of silence for the 20 people killed on Oct. 6 in a limousine crash in Schoharie.
Many of the accident victims were from Amsterdam.
Dave Falso, who organizes the annual Christmas light showcase on Lyon Street in Amsterdam, said he knew some of the victims through his business — Dave’s Landscaping LLC. Falso also said some of the people who died in the crash visited the Pollak light display in past years.
“We have an obligation to remember the fine people that were killed and the tragedy that their families are still facing and will face forever,” Falso said.

The train will pause in front of the parade review stand, located at Proctors. Silence will be observed.
“It will be 20 seconds — one second for each victim,” Falso said.
This year’s Pollak event, which raises money for Make-a-Wish Northeast New York, begins Friday.
