CAPITAL REGION — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, calling for 2 to 6 inches of snowfall across the region.
The alert, issued late Monday morning, is in effect from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, and the Weather Service was warning people to expect slippery road conditions and reduced visibilities during that time.
Snowfall rates are expected to approach a half-inch to an inch per hour during the Tuesday morning commute, according to the Weather Service.
The Weather Service said the higher accumulation total — 6 inches — was likely mainly in higher elevations.
