A sobriety checkpoint on Union Street in Niskayuna resulted in a pair of driving while intoxicated charges and over two dozen traffic tickets, according to State Police.
Akwass Rahaman, 27, was charged with felony DWI after registering a blood alcohol level of .17, according to a media release from State Police. Michael Fera, 62, was charged with DWI and registered a blood alcohol level of .09, just above the legal limit, according to the release.
The checkpoint, meant to deter drunk driving, also resulted in 27 traffic tickets and two marijuana possession arrests, according to police.
The checkpoint was conducted by Niskayuna and state police.
