
SCOTIA – A woman was struck and killed by a car in Scotia Wednesday evening, Scotia police said.
The crash happened at about 6:40 p.m. on Route 5 in front of 24 Mohawk Ave.
The victim was treated at the scene by Scotia Fire Department paramedics and taken to Ellis Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The woman’s name has not yet been released. Scotia police could not be immediately reached Thursday morning for an update on the investigation.
The New York State Police are assisting.
