Stillwater’s Pickett named Class C girls’ soccer player of the year

When the year’s all-state high school girls’ soccer teams were announced earlier this week, Class C state champion Stillwater was well-represented.

Stillwater junior Brooke Pickett was named the classification’s New York State Sportswriters and Coaches Organization for Girls Sports Player of the Year, while Stillwater’s Christina Ihnatolya earned the Coach of the Year honor. 

Pickett was also a first-team selection along with sophomore teammates Keelyn Peacock and Teya Staie. Sophomore Devon Wagner was a fifth-team pick.

Stillwater went 22-0-1 during the 2018 season in which it outscored opponents 129-16.
