After a three-year hiatus, Santaland has returned to the fountain area at ViaPort Rotterdam.
Mall officials are thrilled to have the attraction back at the heart of the mall. The display is open to all visitors during the holiday season.
Santaland was last set up in the fountain area in 2015. That year, mall management decided to install remote-controlled boats in the fountain for guest to use. In 2016, Santaland was moved to the old American Eagle Space. Then in 2017 it was moved Santaland over by Via Aquarium.

While these these locations provided a nice holiday experience, many mall guests and tenants expressed that the set was not as extravagant and was tough to locate, according to mall officials.
“Shoppers, tenants, and guests requested it [Santaland] go back to the fountain area,” said ViaPort Mall Manager Terri Emond.

According to Marketing and PR Director Alan Fanitzi, moving Santaland back to its original location gives guests an additional incentive to visit the mall.
From draining the fountain and installing the props, construction of the set took just over two weeks.
