LOUDONVILLE — Ballston Spa soccer senior Caitlin Wania will play collegiately at Siena next season, the college announced Friday.
Wania was a two-time captain who collected 37 goals and 16 assists during her five-year varsity career. She was a three-time First Team Suburban Council selection and led the Scotties to their first sectional semifinals appearance in 16 years this fall.
A Section II Class A All-Section and First Team Suburban Council All-Star, Wania was also named a Class AA Fourth Team All-State honoree this season. She played five years of club soccer for the Albany Alleycats, and was part of the U12 NY State Cup Champions. Wania competed for the past two seasons for the Quickstrike club team.
“Caitlin is a very technical offensive player,” Siena head coach Steve Karbowski. “She is creative on the dribble in 1v1 situations, and has a goal scoring mentality. Her versatility and attacking ability will provide another option in the offensive end.”
